Universal AI University is a State Private University under the UNIVERSAL AI UNIVERSITY, KARJAT, ACT, 2022.

In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (3) of section 48 of the Universal Ai University, Karjat Act, 2022 (Mah. Act No. 3 of 2023), the Government of Maharashtra hereby appoints the 28th of April 2023 to be the date on which Universal Ai University, Karjat shall become operational.

The Act came into enforcement on 25th of January 2023. The Cabinet approval for the University was received on 13th of December 2022.

Universal AI University logo was unveiled by Ms. Arundhati Bhattacharya, the banking legend, Chairperson of Salesforce.com and former Chairperson of State Bank of India and Mr. Bharat Puri, Chairman of Pidilite Industries in November 2022 at the annual Convocation.
