Rahul Nirakar

Bio

Mr. Rahul Nirakar is a fashion and lifestyle designer, researcher, and design educator with a quindecennial of experience in both design and academia. He has also co-founded two design labels, NIRVIKALPA and KASAV By Nirvikalpa, and is dedicated to promoting a holistic lifestyle and sustainable eco-living. His vision and mission of #bringvedasback involve working in the areas of Ayurveda, Sustainability, Handloom, and Handicrafts in collaboration with various craft clusters across India. After completing his formal design education at NIFT Mumbai, he immersed himself in the realms of handloom, handicraft, and academia. 

Furthermore, Mr. Rahul has worked as a design researcher at IDC, IIT Bombay for the project E-Kalpa – Digital learning environment for design in India, and he has also served as a design educator at esteemed institutions such as NIFT, NID, as well as various other educational organisations throughout the country. Born in an edupreneur’s family with five decades of legacy, Mr. Rahul began his teaching career at an astonishingly young age when he was in the fifth standard, and he has continued to teach ever since. Additionally, he has collaborated with different design organizations and mentored design startups. Mr. Rahul’s passion for his roots and heritage is evident in his ceaseless pursuit of Bharatanatyam, Carnatic vocal music, Veena, and Violin. He is also deeply committed to independent research in Veda-Vedanta and various other areas of Indology, reflecting his profound love for his cultural legacy.
